But this afternoon I see this in my gmail.
They go on to say...
"This third generation of our SHA256 engine was a complex multi-year investment in bringing the latest semiconductor technology to bitcoin mining.
Developing a fully custom 65nm ASIC processor is not a casual undertaking. In fact, the new products have improved mining speed by a factor of 72. This much advancement doesn't come easy and it's fair to say that getting here has been eventful."
Yeah I wasn't thinking of the word eventful. But I will say Butterfly Labs employees BFL_Jody and BFL_Josh have been really great the entire time over at the Butterfly Labs Forums. They provided updates, kept their cool, and were very professional during this pre-order wait.
Well I don't have a miner in my lap now, so the wait continues. However, this little message does relieve a little tension though and get me prepared for assuming every brown box shipped between now and who knows when is my ASIC miner. Here's to a fun future unboxing!
I almost forgot. They also mentioned something I had seen in the forums. It turns out all products will need a bit more space in their case and this footprint increase can be seen on their site now.
